It's 3am and I shouldn't be up but I just got done with three commissions and changed some things on the master post. I talked to several other artists who strongly suggested that I raise prices and I even got numeric examples... so yeah. It's higher but it's kind of neutral, relative to what I've been charging and what I "should" be charging. I don't want to be a dick, so I'm trying to keep it as reasonable as I can without making it so I couldn't call this work. Theoretically, I won't have to get a job job this summer, if I can make at least minimum wage on freelance stuff...
I will be moving back home next weekend. After I'm settled in, I will be opening commissions probably every Friday or Saturday, with limited slots. That schedule is likely to be indefinite... because the job market is ass in my town anyway.
Commissions aside, school is a bag of buttcracks and I'm not dealing with the emotions as usual. Fishing is fun if you're poor because you can get a ton of food for free. (No limit on panfish.) I can't wait to fish. I can't wait to go camping. I especially can't wait for our summer road trip down to Florida. So much fun... So much loafing...
Summerrrrrrr......
FEATURED ARTIST OF THE MONTH
His works are full of emotion conveyed through light and color, snapshots of everyday moments--many to which I can relate. If there's anything about an artist that I need to love, it's their own personal love and appreciation for life and small moments. It's his ability, driven much by his love for his family as well, to capture these snapshots that both impresses me and pains me that I haven't been doing the same (or even have the ability...) Every piece by Pascal Campion is inspiring and highly emotive.
